Opinion: "Patent trolls" are enemies of innovation

Nonpracticing entities and patent assertion entities, commonly known as "patent trolls," are abusing the U.S. patent system, Kent Walker asserts in this piece. "Troll lawsuits now account for an astonishing 61% of all patent litigation and are disproportionately aimed at small companies, who are often forced to settle rather than pay millions in legal fees," he writes.
