OSHA studies revisions to U.N. chemical labeling

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is looking into the U.N. Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals to determine whether an update of U.S. rules is required. The latest GHS revisions were mainly clarifications, not criteria changes, said Maureen Ruskin of OSHA. "Now that many countries are implementing GHS, they're seeing gaps, so revisions were made to close those up," Ruskin said.
