Railroads plan $24.5B total investment, will hire 11,000

The freight-rail industry is projected to invest $13 billion in capital expenditures this year and hire 11,000 people, according to the American Association of Railroads. "This year, freight railroads plan to continue to focus on investments that maintain and enhance our physical infrastructure and safety systems, including cutting-edge technology that ensures we are ready to deliver for the future," President and CEO Edward Hamberger said.
