VC investments in medtech sector hit almost $300M in January

Emerging medical device companies drew more than $290 million in venture capital funding from 26 deals last month, according to this analysis. EndoChoice, maker of infection control products, biopsy systems and diagnostic test kits for gastrointestinal specialists, received the biggest investment with a $43 million round led by Sequoia Capital.
