BoE continues to hold key rate at 0.5%

For the 60th straight monthly meeting, the Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee has kept its benchmark interest rate at 0.5%. The central bank also held steady £375 billion in quantitative easing. Officials didn't offer insight on forward guidance. They are expected to provide clues next week when the central bank's quarterly economic forecast is published.
