Concrete warehouse in N.Y. to undergo quake testing

A 10-floor concrete warehouse in Utica, N.Y., built in 1910, is set to be demolished, but it will serve a research purpose before that happens. The structure will undergo earthquake tests conducted by University of California, Los Angeles, University of Buffalo and Tufts University using a shake table. The building's construction history will provide a valuable research opportunity on earthquake simulation tests, according to Robert Nigbor of UCLA.
