Higher fares could lead to reduction in travel, Expedia CEO says

Sharp increases in the price of airline tickets could trigger a reduction in travel, Expedia Chief Executive Dara Khosrowshahi said. He noted that current demand for air travel is "fairly robust." Fare increases related to capacity cuts and consolidation are unlikely to affect travelers until 2009, he said.
