Study: Low-carb diet may protect against diabetes

A diet low in carbohydrates and high in animal fat and protein does not appear to elevate Type 2 diabetes risk in women, according to a new study. The lead author revealed that a diet with higher vegetable fat and vegetable protein levels and low carbohydrate content seems to provide a protective effect against the disease.
