Will lawmakers block Utah capital's partner registry, benefits?

The Salt Lake City Council has granted its unanimous approval to create Utah's first domestic-partner registry. However, the registry reportedly could be derailed before the first couple signs up, under a bill introduced in the state Legislature that would stop the registry and prohibit the city from offering domestic-partner benefits to its workers.
