Stimulus could mean jobs for 670,000 construction workers

The proposed economic stimulus package could include road and bridge construction along with making schools and federal buildings more energy efficient -- a move that would put as many as 670,000 construction workers back on the job by the end of next year, according to The Wall Street Journal. The industry has shed 900,000 jobs since September 2006. In addition, a plan for a "smart grid" could create additional jobs, observers say.
