Engineering class to count as science credit in Texas

A new engineering course will be offered in high schools across Texas for students who already have completed high-level science and math courses. The engineering course is intended to improve science, technology, engineering and math education and will count as science credit for high-school juniors and seniors. Officials say engineering courses have become increasingly popular but can be difficult to fit in among other electives -- a problem that is likely to be solved by offering science credit.
