Golf industry may look to other sports for inspiration

In a society with a rapidly decreasing attention span, golf risks being hampered by its lengthy playing time, potentially high equipment costs and reputation as a game for older players. Advocates of the sport are looking at other sports that have been updated -- such as skiing, bowling and ice skating -- for ideas on how to make the game more attractive to new and younger audiences.
