Institutional funds flock to U.K. real estate

Pension funds and other institutional investors placed a record $4.5 billion in U.K. property funds last year, according to the Association of Real Estate Funds. It is the second quarter of positive net sales, according to John Cartwright, CEO of AREF. "Interestingly, while retail investors remain active, we have also seen significant new money from institutional investors who tend to have longer-term investment horizons," he says.
