UnitedHealthcare to require all providers to get prior notification

Health insurance company UnitedHealthcare on Feb. 15 will begin requiring all service providers in its network to get prior notification for various procedures, including PET, nuclear cardiology and nuclear medicine studies. The move is intended to prevent patients from being exposed to unnecessary radiation.
