Companies that want to sell green products should have a deep understanding of regulations, corporate policies and consumer expectations regarding sustainability, say experts. To ensure compliance, companies should make sure green claims can be supported by scientific data and enlist the help of third-party advisers who understand the ethical, cultural and legal considerations of selling green products, said Robert Hamilton, the regulatory policy director for Amway.
