Fans raise 990-ton roof for LNG tank in Australia

A domed roof weighing about 990 tons has been inflated atop a liquefied natural gas tank about 125 feet tall in Australia's Queensland state. The roof, constructed inside the tank, was raised to the tank's top with the help of three large fans. "After years of planning and construction, it's always an amazing feeling to get the roof into place," said George Kerr of Bechtel, who worked on the project.
