Healthy baby boomers lead to new "longevity" bond

The "longevity" bond is a response to corporate pension plans facing the potential of higher-than-expected payouts as baby boomers live longer than expected. While pension plans are insured against those risks, their insurers and re-insurers are floating the first bonds to pass those risks on to investors.
