Microphones are the latest battleground in spectrum allocation

Wireless microphones are one key battleground as U.S. regulators try to pry open more spectrum for wireless carriers and make way for faster Wi-Fi. The microphones come into play because they use wavelengths that are particularly well-suited for large batches of data. Battling to preserve that space for their mics are diverse entities such as the NFL and megachurch pastors, which argue that different frequencies could lead to poorer performance.
