Utah bill to require autism insurance coverage

A bill introduced by Sen. Brian Shiozawa, R-Cottonwood Heights, on Thursday would include autism spectrum disorder in Utah's insurance code. Under the provisions of the bill, health insurers would be required to cover up to $50,000 a year for an autistic child younger than age 9 and up to $25,000 for 9- to 18-year-olds with the condition.
