Prosecutors examine Abbott's AIDS medicine price hike

Illinois and New York prosecutors are looking into whether the company's 400% price increase for Norvir in December violated antitrust law. Both investigations are examining whether Abbott's price hike was designed to move patients to Kaletra, a newer, more expensive drug with a longer patent life. Abbott denied any wrongdoing in its pricing and is working with investigators.
