Quickservice chains unlikely to engage in burger war

Quickservice chains including Jack in the Box and Wendy's International are promoting their value menu items but are not expected to participate in a burger price war, which in 2003 caused a squeeze on profits, one writer notes. The value menus are geared toward typical quickservice customers -- males aged 15 to 30.
