Austin officials try to stop GSA plan to demolish building

City officials in Austin, Texas, are frantically trying to stop plans by the U.S. General Services Administration to demolish the city's Intel shell building to make way for a new federal courthouse. The city made an appeal to the GSA to preserve the downtown building and convert it to another type of development, but the government issued a testy rebuke, calling the plan "fiscally irresponsible."
