Amtrak strives to add another trip between Seattle, Vancouver

Amtrak Cascades currently runs one daily round-trip train between Vancouver, B.C., and Seattle and is trying to add a second trip. The train's efforts, however, have been hindered by a dispute regarding immigration and customs inspections. "In July, we were notified by the Canadian Border Services Agency that they will require $1,500 [Canadian] a day in reimbursement for inspections of northbound passengers," said Ken Uznanski of the Washington Department of Transportation.
