Warm beverages are more effective for cold, flu relief

A pilot study of 30 patients with cold and flu symptoms found those who had a room-temperature drink reported relief from runny nose, cough and sneezing, while those with a hot beverage reported the same relief as well as improvement in fatigue, chills and sore throats. Experts said the results are mainly psychological but have theories on other reasons that hot beverages may be more beneficial.
