Are babies behind Silicon Valley's gender gap?

TechCrunch uses Dunn and Bradstreet data on women business owners, research on education levels of women entrepreneurs and an analysis of performance of women-led venture companies to try to figure out why a gender gap exists in Silicon Valley's top ranks. GigaOm's Stacey Higginbotham drew a long thread of responses to her blog suggesting the continued expectation for women to fill the child-raising role is why the top posts at tech firms are void of women. "To fix the problem, we're going to have to discuss the lack of parity between men and women when it comes to raising children," she wrote.
