Boeing's new jumbo completes first flight

Boeing Co.'s biggest-ever commercial jet completed a nearly four-hour test flight on Monday, capping a troubled development process that once cast doubt on the plane's viability. Boeing has 108 orders for its 747-8, a stretched, updated version of its jumbo workhorse. Following a rigorous testing schedule, the first cargo version of the plane should be delivered to customers later this year, with a passenger version to follow in 2011.
