Celanese swings to Q4 profit on strong auto sales, Chinese demand

Celanese reported a $5 million profit in the fourth quarter after posting a $155 million loss in the same quarter the year before. The Dallas-based chemicals producer also reported that its revenue increased by 8%, to $1.39 billion. The company benefited from recovering sales in the automotive sector and strong demand from the Chinese economy, said Celanese CEO David Weidman.
