Does nature or nurture have greater effect on high achievers?

Experts differ in their views on whether extraordinary achievement should be attributed to genetics or social and environmental factors. Researchers point to early exposure to certain disciplines, nurturing families, mentors and teachers who help support students' interests as increasing a person's likelihood of being classified as gifted, but motivation and hard work are also factors that help determine success.
