Hospitals say delay in reform passage will lead to rise in unpaid care

Hospitals are worried that costs related to unpaid medical bills will continue to rise if President Barack Obama's health reform proposal, which would expand coverage to uninsured Americans, remains stalled. Moreover, hospitals will continue to face wavering business models if the Obama administration fails to pass the health reform bill, said Dr. David Abelson, CEO of nonprofit hospital system Park Nicollet Health Services.
