Pit bull charges woman in Alabama

A pit bull terrier that had escaped from its fenced yard toppled a woman walking her dogs in Athens, Ala. While there is a general belief that pit bulls are more likely to bite than other dog breeds, AVMA says the evidence does not support such a claim. When threatened by a dog, AVMA advises that people do not run, make eye contact or scream.
