Skilled data-center workers are in short supply

Many companies are putting projects on hold while scrambling to find IT workers with the right mix of skills for the rapidly changing data-center environment, Beth Schultz writes. "The problem is, not that many people out there right now are versed in the data center of today," says Rick Ancona, deputy U.S. chief information officer and chief technical officer at PricewaterhouseCoopers. The list of skills in short supply includes nontechnical abilities, such as communications skills and strategic planning, experts note.
