UMass to lead initiative for broadband computer centers

The University of Massachusetts in Lowell has been awarded a $783,000 grant to develop and deploy a broadband promotion program featuring 11 public computer centers that will eventually serve 6,650 new broadband users. It's being funded by the $4 billion broadband-stimulus package released this past summer.
