Yahoo! sees local events as a way to win over quick-service chains

Yahoo! plans to sign on as the sponsor of local events and meetings organized by quick-serve restaurants and other so-called "local-national" marketers as a way to attract new ads from these businesses, according to Lem Lloyd, vice president of channel sales at Yahoo! These kinds of marketers are "the most underpenetrated area of local in the online space," Lloyd said at an industry event in New York.
