DuPont, Tata unit partner on advanced vehicle nylons

Tata Toyo of India is using nylons made by DuPont for turbo-diesel systems in its lineup of small and energy-efficient cars. "Turbo systems are one of several technologies the industry is quickly adopting to boost the performance of smaller, more efficient engines. The environment these power-boost technologies create is challenging the capabilities of many existing engineering thermoplastics," said Patrick Ferronato, director of automotive for DuPont's polymer unit.
