Experts ID new genes linked to type 2 diabetes

An analysis of 39 multi-ethnic studies identified four genes as being related to type 2 diabetes as well as six independent genetic variants at sites already known to be associated with the disease. The researchers confirmed that known genetic risk factors influence type 2 diabetes onset across multiple ethnicities. The findings appear in the American Journal of Human Genetics.
