Oregon massage therapists object to licensing changes in Senate bill

Massage therapists and massage business owners in Oregon expressed displeasure with the regulatory terms of a new state Senate bill that would establish new criteria for licensing and shift licensing responsibilities from local to state authorities. Massage Envy franchisee Jim DeWeese argues the requirements will create bureaucracy and harm business owners. Others point out the bill would also prohibit any kind of public clinic where massage therapy students can get experience. The bill is currently still in committee.
