Creative design makes imaging less intimidating for children

Children undergoing imaging procedures may be anxious, necessitating sedation, but some facilities have installed child-friendly designs that make pediatric patients more comfortable. From underwater themes that transform a machine's gantry into a submarine to wild animal families decorating the walls, imaging rooms are easing the minds of some children so much that they can forgo sedation, and they might even have fun. Although some of the tools cost more, experts note that even inexpensive tools such as fun lighting and stickers can help.
