Hotel Web site bookings, loyalty program memberships on the rise

Bookings on hotel Web sites and loyalty program membership were on the rise in the fourth quarter of 2004, according to the Market Metrix Hospitality Index. The index showed membership in loyalty programs increased 34% since the third quarter of 2002, and hotels increased their share of Web bookings nearly 30% in the past five quarters, with hotels now receiving 15% of all Internet bookings.
