Serious side effects, deaths linked to Botox, FDA warns

U.S. regulators on Friday warned providers that muscle relaxants containing botulinum toxin, such as Botox and Myobloc, have been associated with serious side effects, including deaths in children being treated for cerebral palsy. A spokeswoman for Botox maker Allergan said there was no evidence that its product caused the adverse reactions cited by the FDA. Myobloc manufacturer Solstice Neurosciences said the agency did not blame its drug for causing the side effects.
