Few see provider or use drugs for flu-like illnesses

A survey of claims covering about 20 million people showed 5% of U.S. children visit a health care professional for flu-like illness, compared to about 2% of adults. The researchers also found about 4% to 6% of patients with flu-like illnesses filled a prescription for antiviral medication shown to be effective.
