No bids for more than $158M worth of work on SunRail project

The Florida Department of Transportation did not receive any bids for $158 million-plus worth of work on the proposed $1.2 billion SunRail commuter-rail system. Companies that had planned to bid say the maximum price was too low to cover the design and building of double tracks along with constructing station platforms, a signalization system and a control center in Sanford. Officials omitted four items from the project to bring down the cost, and sent out new bid specs on Tuesday.
