Air Canada is "optimistic" about avoiding pilot strike, CEO says

Air Canada CEO Calin Rovinescu said the carrier will continue negotiations with pilots beyond the strike deadline. Pilots have the option of going on strike once a cooling-off period ends Tuesday. "We are optimistic [that a deal is] achievable on a negotiated basis, without disruption to our operations," Rovinescu said.
