J.C. Penney's top priority this year is to return to growth, an achievable goal as the 110-year-old department store chain transforms into a collection of brand-name shops in the coming months, says CEO Ron Johnson. Penney's has no plans to close any stores, despite frequent rumors questioning the fate of 400 smaller locations, Johnson said. "We need to develop a strategy for the smaller stores. We want those stores to thrive as well."
