United offers satellite-based Wi-Fi for overseas flights

United Airlines has installed satellite-based Wi-Fi Internet for passengers on overseas flights. The satellite-based service offers coverage over areas without cell towers, such as the ocean. "With this new service, we continue to build the airline that customers want to fly," said Jim Compton, vice chairman and chief revenue officer at United.
