4-year graduation rates at R.I. colleges decline

Rhode Island higher-education leaders blame poor preparation and pressures to work while studying for low state college graduation rates. The four-year graduation rate at the University of Rhode Island was 44% in 2013, while Rhode Island College reported just a 13% graduation rate last spring -- the lowest in five years. Both schools say they are aiming to improve student retention as well as their four-year graduation rates.
