Fla. senator proposes alternative paths to higher education

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio is proposing changes in higher education that he says would help shrink a "growing opportunity gap." Rubio is calling for alternatives to traditional four-year colleges, including a proposal to make free, online courses transferable to traditional institutions and eligible for financial aid. "I want to add more options to the menu. And the more options we have, the more affordable it will be and the more people we're going to be able to empower," Rubio said.
