The recent changes to IRS regulations about how often social welfare organizations can be politically active could be extended to unions and trade organizations, potentially putting a damper on the groups' abilities to distribute legislative information and updates. The IFA is monitoring the discussion of this regulation "to ensure that IFA can continue to directly communicate with our members about pro-business, pro-franchising legislators and candidates who support our public policy agenda to improve the business environment for franchising," IFA President and CEO Steve Caldeira said.
