Passengers who pay $85 and submit to a background check and fingerprinting can speed their way through airport security much more quickly than normal, and that's the goal of the Transportation Security Administration's PreCheck program, which is being rolled out at a growing number of locations. But the TSA also is selecting passengers it deems low-risk to participate in PreCheck without paying the fee. Fliers chosen for the no-check lines will get expedited service through security.
