U.S., S. Korea exercises may test Pyongyang

Military drills conducted jointly between South Korea and the U.S. Feb. 24 could test the temper of Pyongyang, which is set to participate in a Feb. 20-25 reunion of about 100 families separated by the line between the two Koreas. The winter drills allow the U.S. and South Korea "to train on our essential tasks and respond to any crisis which may arise," said Gen. Curtis Scaparrotti, the commander of the Combined Forces Command.
