Will Satya Nadella renew Microsoft's focus on its ad division?

Microsoft's new CEO, Satya Nadella, has a background in cloud products and ad tech, and that could be good news for the company's advertising division, observers say. If the company turns its focus to mobile and the cloud as promised, that likely means advertising will be an important revenue stream, says former Microsoft media sales executive Jay Sampson. Nadella's "appointment as CEO is about as good as it can get for Microsoft Advertising," Sampson says.
